Workout of the Week 4.28.2020

“I just try to approach every opportunity on stage as if it’s my first time and my last time.” - Misty Copeland // American ballet dancer

Fitness is key. It grounds the soul, allows us to feel the rush of endorphins and reduces stress while encouraging our body to make the most of what we have to offer. Burns fat, makes you feel good, and most importantly, smile.

In addition to a lot of the blogs I’ll be writing about here on CK Collective, I’ll be sharing some good workouts, as well. A healthy body and healthy mind are extremely important to maintain, and I’m a big believer in the relationship between the two is often overlooked. To perform at our best in the workplace, we need to perform at our best outside of it, too.

If you’re just getting into working out, that’s cool, but if you’re a seasoned vet, then I urge you to take some of these weekly workouts and incorporate them into your routine.

Let’s get to it! Here’s one I did at the park the other day (man, I can’t wait until the gym is open again!)

The Workout:

5 Rounds For Time:

  • 20 elevated push-ups

  • 20 toe taps to an elevated target

  • 20 lunges with a twist to each side

  • 20 plank shoulder taps

  • 20 Air squats

When you do this workout, it should be done and focused on quality. Don’t just go for a killer time, just go for a high number of quality and get those movements in so you can feel good and steady. Don’t forget to take a breather, but this workout is a good bodyweight workout and something everyone can and should be able to tackle. If push-ups aren’t your thing, scale down to your knees and make it happen!

Try this one out for size and let me know what you think!

Are you a morning workout person or after work?

Drop me a comment and let me know how fitness relates to your work life.
