Start With ‘Why’

I love that Babe Ruth quote from above…really reminds me of what it takes to do sales and new business. Anyway, as it is, I’ve been doing a lot of coaching calls with sales execs., leaders and founders lately and I’ve been sharing this video from Simon Sinek down below called, ‘Start with why.’

The video discusses the ideas behind reaching into people’s limbic brains and how making them feel is the most important way into pushing a product, service or other offering. You cannot logically talk someone into a sale, nor can you convince them through stats, KPI’s and other information. You have got to make them feel first.

How you end up doing that is starting with your WHY first. Simon calls this the ‘Golden Circle’ and uses Apple and TiVo as examples of products and companies that either succeeded greatly, or failed, all despite having the same tech and resources available to them.
